irredeemed_ant: (Eric Watching the Game Having A Bud)
Eric had promised Verity when they'd met that he's show her his Ant Man armour, since she had been an interesting (and cute) person to speak to and given her abilities he figured she wasn't the type to blab about secrets anyway. So they'd met up for a drink close to his place before they'd headed up to his apartment, a somewhat untidy but functional pad which with the games console by the tv and the fridge of easy to make meals showed Eric was relatively comfortable in his single lifestyle, even if he was spending a lot of the time on missions with the Secret Avengers.

Eric smiled at Verity as he motioned to the couch whilst he awkwardly put aside a few things he strewn over it. "It's a little shabby I know but it's home." He was inwardly curious to see what she'd make of the Ant Man suit.

In the aftermath of the Triskeleon falling and HYDRA'S reveal to the world, SHIELD had become a broken and fractured organisation and Agent O'Grady had found himself uncertain who to trust or turn to. Colonel Fury, Commander Hill, Black Widow, they were all dead or else in positions he couldn't be clear of. He'd only survived because of the sacrifice of his best friend, and then acquiring a secret project from a section he'd reached in his flight - Hank Pym's Ant Man armour was a device SHIELD scientist had been working on, updating the dated 60' and 70s tech and its shell into a prototype worthy of the 21st century.

And Eric had... taken it. To stay alive, of course. He was pretty certain HYDRA was aware of it and planning to take it themselves anyway. So he'd managed to put that SHIELD combat training he'd half listened to good use and eventually activate the suit's shrinking abilities to fly away.

Seemed like he was actually good with it, once he'd had the chance to test it in relative safety, but now the more pressing concern was getting to someone he could trust. Someone safe. Agent 13... Sharon... he'd heard her defy that HYDRA agent on the intercom, she could be trusted as far as he was concerned. Plus it was true that he had seen her in the hallways more than a few times and had his eyes on her. She was pretty hot after all.

Via getting intel from his tiny height he learnt that the agent was now with the CIA, so with some difficulty he located the facility she was stationed at and used the vents to get securely inside whilst the size of a small bug. Maybe he'd be safe for the first time in a while.

I figured after so long I probably need one of these because its probably good to have some constructive criticism when it comes to playing characters. So post here if you want to make any sensible suggestions for Eric. Petty comments will be deleted since I want valid suggestions.

He had to see Anne again after their last encounter, but it had been a tricky deal for Eric to get hold of a working time travel device, even if he happened to know the best places to try - Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four or Hank McCoy of the X-Men. There was also Doctor Doom of course but that was probably asking for trouble, and since trying magic time travel with Doctor Strange or Scarlet Witch would likely back fire, tech was the best option.

Thankfully since Eric had a check up of the Ant Man armour to go through at the Baxter Building Eric did manage to swipe a working time pad. Of course he also needed to make sure he knew how to set it up since he certainly didn't want to end up being chased by dinosaurs or avoiding evil killer future robots. It took a few days of reading the copy of Reed's notes but eventually he figured how to set it to the right date in 1524 and the location to England, specifically Anne's location. And he made sure to arrive a little distance away and in his Ant Man armour since he was pretty certain Anne's father, brother and sister wouldn't take kindly to a strange red haired man with a weird accent asking to see their relative. Having gleamed the specific date Anne had come from on their last encounter he'd set the date to arrive around three to five days after, hoping she would still be present.

The area he arrived in was somewhat wooded so it was a simple task of putting the time machine in his armour pocket holder and shrinking in height to a fraction of an inch. Once then he took to the air, hovering over to the house to locate Anne and her family. When Anne was alone - ideally in her chambers - he could try to contact her and hope she still remembered him like he had her.

Eric had felt lucky to get out of the Triskeleon chaos intact. So apparently SHIELD had been totally comprised by HYDRA, the Red Skull's old Nazi run dudes, so all at once he found that one of his best friends was a double agent and had watched his other best friend get gunned down at point blank range. Naturally Eric hadn't wanted to join any of the dead - including Colonel Fury, christ - and had no idea if one could now trust Hill, Garrett, Barton, Sitwell or Hand anymore, so he did the thing SHIELD agents aren't entirely expected to do.

Run for it.

The labs had been a logical place since they were just two floors away from the carnage inflicted by the HYDRA forces in the Briefing rooms. And inside one of the sealed compartments he'd found it, marked for the Fridge. Prototype G.I. Ant Man Armour, Mark V, built in the 60's by a man named Doctor Hank Pym, adapted via SHIELD and Stark Tech for a new generation, currently untested. When Eric stuck it on he'd expected some mild version of the Iron Man armour, only to find that it was quite different when he suddenly found himself a quarter of an inch tall and the lab now quite gigantic.

So when HYDRA forces broke in and Eric realised they were after all the cool stuff, he figured out the controls - Pym Particles, apparently - and in about two minutes SHIELD forces would find twelve prone HYDRA agents and a missing Ant Man suit.

Since that time, Eric had been in hiding, using his suit to undertake mild, if admitively morally dubious, crimes of getting petty cash from a number of places, just to keep alive. As time passed he found that the suit was particularly useful in letting him satisify his one big flaw - a interest in women. He'd often been interested in all sorts of ladies at SHIELD from the low grade SHIELD rookies to the upper ranks of Commander Maria Hill, Natasha Romanoff, Victoria Hand and Stephannie Rogers, aka Captain America. And when you could be half an inch tall, or even microscopic in height, you could see all sorts of women really. Maybe amid all the destruction he'd seen it was making him feel better.

Eric of course had no idea that the remains of SHIELD - as well as HYDRA - were after the Ant Man armour, and no doubt there was confusion as to whether Eric had been working for one side or another. And no idea that they'd sent Steph Rogers to find and locate him. In the mean time Eric had found himself a quiet appartment in Brooklyn on the fifteen floor of an equally quiet building block, using it as a base between his various outings. Coming from the latest of these he zipped up through the open window and landed on the table, considering if to get changed and tidy the place up when the sensors in his helmet detected movement from somewhere down the hallway outside his appartment. He quickly zipped across to the doorhole so he might see who it was.
irredeemed_ant: (Eric Antman Can You See Me?)
When Eric got a hold recently of the Ant Man armour under... shall we say debatable circumstances, there was an emergency and Eric sort of stumbled across it and with his interest in super heroics and the rumours about what Hank Pym had designed the armour back in the day to do, he figured the SHIELD tech boys wouldn't mind. And ever since he's been using parts of his off shifts to explore the SHIELD facilities he'd been stationed at with ease. Secrets are easy to hide from a man who can now be a inch, half an inch or even microscopic in size. He's even to some extent figured out how to control insects using the special attennas built into the armour. Simply put the suit is fantastic.

And women... well there are a lot of very interesting SHIELD agents of the fair sex and given that Eric can be impulsive and interested in many of them, he's realised he has a prime chance of getting to see some very sexy - and very giant sized - women. And top of his list is SHIELD's most elite agent, the Black Widow.

Most men would think it crazy to spy on a spy, but Eric likes to play dangerously and this is the ultimate test for his armour thus far, and he can see if Natasha's as interesting away from the masses. It's a simple task of figuring out her quarters location on the higher levels, and with some care he locates a set of vents he can use to get inside her quarters without ever having to use the doorway. He's interested to see what Natasha might be up to, and go from there.
