When Eric got a hold recently of the Ant Man armour under... shall we say debatable circumstances, there was an emergency and Eric sort of stumbled across it and with his interest in super heroics and the rumours about what Hank Pym had designed the armour back in the day to do, he figured the SHIELD tech boys wouldn't mind. He's even to some extent figured out how to control insects using the special attennas built into the armour. Simply put the suit is fantastic.
